An accurate diagnosis is only the first step. At Psychology 360, our goal is not only to identify Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), but to guide families toward meaningful next steps that support social, emotional, and developmental growth.
After each autism evaluation, our psychologists provide a full explanation of your child’s strengths and challenges, along with a personalized plan of action.
Support Tools and Recommendations
Behavioral Therapy Referrals: We may recommend evidence-based approaches like Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), which uses structured techniques to teach new skills and reduce challenging behaviors. ABA is often used to support communication, behavior, and adaptive functioning.
Relationship-Based Interventions: For families seeking developmental approaches, we may suggest programs like Relationship Development Intervention (RDI) or DIR/Floortime. These models help strengthen parent-child interactions, emotional regulation, and flexible thinking.
Educational Planning Support: Our evaluations can help you advocate for school-based services or classroom accommodations. We provide documentation to support eligibility for special education or tailored learning environments.
Medication Consultation: In some cases, medication may assist with emotional regulation, sleep, or behavioral challenges. If appropriate, we can refer you to a pediatrician or psychiatrist to discuss this further.
Regional Center Navigation: Children diagnosed with ASD may be eligible for services through local Regional Centers throughout California. These benefits can include direct services, such as individual therapies; though they also include funding for families to cover costs of supports not typically covered by insurance, such as for parent coaching, childcare, sensory items, and safety equipment for the home. We can guide you on how to apply to your local Regional Centers and how to request Self-Determination Funding.
Parent Coaching & Support Groups: There is a robust community of individuals touched by Autism, in Southern California. There are various community and non-profit programs, parent support groups, family advocates and organizations that offer activities throughout the year.
We’re here to help families gain clarity, feel empowered, and take the next steps with confidence.
