Emma Doney, PsyD, is a Clinical Psychologist who recently joined the Psychology 360 team. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in Phoenix, Albuquerque, and Las Vegas, Emma has a rich background in diverse environments. After attending college on the east coast and spending a semester studying in London, she eventually settled in California, where she has built a career focused on helping individuals better understand themselves. Emma brings experience from school districts, college counseling centers, and eating disorder clinics, as well as her recent role in an outpatient private practice. Passionate about fostering personal growth and promoting mental health, she is excited to bring her expertise and compassionate approach to the Psyc360 team.

Where did Emma grow up and what was he doing before working at Psychology 360?

Emma Doney, PsyD, was born in Atlanta, Georgia, but moved to Arizona at the age of two. She grew up in Phoenix, Albuquerque, and Las Vegas. For college, she ventured to the east coast to experience a new area and be closer to family. During her studies, she spent a semester living and studying in London, a dream come true for her. After completing her education, she returned to the west coast, where she has always felt most at home, and settled in California. Emma gained valuable experience during her training, working in a school district, college counseling centers, and an eating disorder clinic. Most recently, she worked as a psychological associate at an outpatient private practice for three years before joining Psyc360.

What does Emma love most about working at Psychology 360?

Emma loves working with individuals to help them gain a deeper understanding of themselves. She appreciates the opportunity to use assessments to identify strengths and areas for growth, helping clients achieve their full potential in a healthy, fulfilling way. Emma is passionate about treating each person as a unique individual and providing clarity, particularly during challenging moments. She thrives in a collaborative environment, where integrating multiple perspectives helps individuals find peace within themselves.

What does Emma enjoy doing when she is not working?
In her free time, Emma enjoys spending time with her pets, which include a cat, a dog, two guinea pigs, and a fish. She often explores San Diego with her dog, finding ways to keep him active. A clarinet player since middle school, Emma recently joined a community concert band that performs throughout the county.

What are Emma’s top favorite Podcasts/Books?

“Ologies”- A podcast that covers a wide variety of interesting topics.
“How Did This Get Made”- A podcast that discusses what are widely considered “bad” movies, and how they got made.
Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy – Douglas Adams – On the surface a silly story of a man traveling through space following the destruction of Earth, this book has much deeper themes about the human experience and the meaning of life (which may or may not be “42”).
